We currently do not take pick-ups into the large (40-man) raid instances as a rule. An exception may be made for friends who need to finish their quests, but, in general, those who come for a 40-man raid with us as a pick-up will not receive any loot for their trouble. We would prefer to see an application instead.
For unofficial 40-man raids, the raid leader's judgement applies. Since they are not official (that is, on our raid scheduling system), they do not fall under many of our existing rules.
For official 20-man raids, these are primarily SeventhFlight only, though it is possible for pick-ups to come. We'll ask if we need, so no need to ask us.
